This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to succeed in the Human Biology ATAR Examination. The main ATHBY syllabus concepts covered are: Mutations, evolutionary mechanisms, biotechnology (PCR and gel electrophoresis), bioinformatics, comparative analysis (biochemistry, anatomy and bioinformatics), evidence for evolution (fossils, dating techniques and principle of superposition) and hominid evolution (locomotion, features and tool culture). All of these concepts will be further reinforced with a thorough understanding of scientific inquiry specific to Human Biology ATAR.
