DISCLAIMER: These courses are based on the Western Australian Curriculum but many of the course concepts and topics should apply to ATAR courses in other States and Territories.
The following video presentation is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills so important for success in the Modern History ATAR Examination. The information presented will help you to learn, remember and access the course knowledge/content and develop the skills for good essay writing and source analysis. You will be able to pause the video to complete activities that will help you to recall information and clarify key points in different parts of the syllabus. You will also be given the opportunity to attempt past exam questions and compare these to answer guides. It is expected that you are following along with the content discussed and you are making an attempt at each exam question for each section at your own pace.
Although the focus of the presentation is on ‘Russia and the Soviet Union 1914-1945’ and ‘The Changing European World Since 1945’, students studying other electives will benefit from the techniques for learning content, and the skills in essay writing and source analysis, that can be applied to all topics.
